Rather late Art By The Inch update

Obviously, art by the inch is over now. I haven't journalled for ages, but I have continued creating stuff. Not enough to reach my target, but certainly more than I would have without ABTI. And I intend to continue.

I also hope to catch up with journalling it. Here's some from early November

A photo on Flickr A collage card for a knitter. I used the wrong glue (pva glue, rather than pritstick), so the paper's gone wobbly in parts (sorry radegund!). I couldn't redo it as the images were used up. 1/4 A4 ≈ 23.5 square inches.

A photo on Flickr (more) I played with the glass painting kit. I did three designs that came with the kit and two more experimental ones. I haven't measured them yet.

A photo on Flickr One Saturday I cracked open the gouache and gave it a go. Started with some rectangles in various red, orange and yellow shades.

A photo on Flickr Then a flower, outlined in marker, filled in with gouache. The flower is from the Art Nouveau or Art Deco Design Source Book, but drawn from memory.

A photo on Flickr And the same technique for a hat. From the Art Deco Design Source Book, which was in front of me this time.

I put paint on some other pages which are not for public consuption - experiments that didn't work. I might be able to use parts for collage or something later.

I love your glass work. Where did you get the painting stuff for it? I think I might need to start it.

I got it in Inspiring Ideas in Stephen's Green, but I think it's a couple of euro cheaper in Easons. It's Anita's Glass Painting Kit, or something like that. I've bought a couple more colours since, for pieces I haven't uploaded yet.

Cool. Shall have to treat myself :)

There's new ones? Ooh, can't wait to see them.

One's from the Japanese design book you loaned me.

If you're still interested in the glass painting, we could crack them open next craft day. Bring acetate, if you can get a hold of some.

That picture of the butterfly on the window with the garden behind it is art in its own right, I reckon. There's something cool about the way it's just hovering there. At first I thought it was a massive glass butterfly hanging from the tree!

And can you send me your address? I have a mix for you and I didn't make it to the party :/

Thank you!

I've done another butterfly since, yellow and much bigger. It just *glows* when the sun's bright and in the right place. No photo of that one yet.

Will send it on. Thanks!
