Here's the fabric I'm thinking of using for the bedroom curtains. Purple of course!

Beautiful and dramatic! What colour for the walls/ carpet?

While I like the idea of purple walls, I don't want to make it too overpowering, so I'll probably go for a white/cream sort of colour. The floor is currently concrete & will be wood. I'm thinking probably a dark one. Walnut sounds nice, but is probably massively expensive, so it'll be longer before it goes down if I choose that :-) Another I'd like to look at is burnt bamboo. And probably some purple rugs to soften the floor a bit.

We had been thinking an entirely different look, with bamboo (normal, not burnt) walls, neutral colours etc. Glad I didn't buy any accessories back then :-)

There's another room with purple in it - the downstairs loo has purple tiles. Unfortunately not the ones I wanted & it doesn't fill me with joy to see it :-(

If the room is big enough, I think a dark wood floor would look amazing with those curtains and elegant cream coloured walls... maybe some silver accessories and purple bed linen too.

I'm thinking gold rather than silver. And black too, eg cast iron.

I'm finding it quite hard to find all cotton purple bedlinen. I have bought one that's purple, old gold and some brown, which I quite like. I'm not sure how suitable it will be here - it might be too big (Dublin bed is kingsize, Kilkenny is double) and the shades could be wrong.

Oh that's very pretty! Jealous

Wait till we see if we can afford it :-)

Also had my eye on some plain purple velvet, which was cheaper.

Plain Purple velvet would certainly solve any potential pattern matching problems; love the colour though.

If we end up using the velvet, I might go for a fancier style of curtain.

we got a lot of our cotton bedclothes in Arnotts bargain basement, in purple. You also might be able to get white/cream bedclothes with purple embroidery.

Pure cotton duvet cover? (or at least the part that touches skin). I mostly found polyester in the purples. Some that were 50/50, though I can't remember if that was upstairs or in the basement.

Also, I was looking for king size, so that made it harder. But I don't think I even found cotton doubles in purple downstairs.

Cream/purple could work well too. Especially if end up with a lot of purple in the room. Don't want to over do it. I think :-) I do like purple :-)
