  • 12:06 Using nuteile's laptop in new house. All we need is mobile broadband and I'd be ready to move in. Internet's more important than plumbin ... #
  • 12:44 Wood already in: spruce (windows); ash (stairs); mahogany (front door). Likely: maple (kitchen); oak (doors). What about floors? Oak again? #
  • 13:08 Oh, and window cills are pine. Pretty close to spruce; a touch darker. #
  • 13:25 If the WC is facing the basin, how much space should you leave between them? #
  • 15:10 Bunnies are extremely cute to begin with. How do baby bunnies manage to be even cuter? #
  • 18:44 Some damage on a bridge over the M7. Who should be told? The NRA? Maybe they already know. It's been there a few weeks. #

*shudder* Don't mention bathrooms, I've had a weekend of them

If all you need is mobile broadband, I sense a housewarming coming up!!!

I'm catching up with my friendslist from the bottom, so haven't read your entry yet. I've had a weekend of all sorts of house things - bathrooms (sorry!), kitchens, doors, stone picking and sawdust

I may have been slightly impractical in that entry :-)

I'm going to order some toilets and a basin tomorrow, but we haven't picked them all yet.

Love the colour of the stairs.
When you get to the bathroom planning may I suggest that you do not overlook bathroom cupboards. Very essential.

It is all coming along nicely. What do you do for heating?

Me too!

Good point. We're building a vanity into the main bathroom, but I haven't thought about the ensuites. Not much room there though! The downstairs loo will be the easiest. There was going to be a shower there, but now there isn't, so we've plenty of space for unfitted units.

We've underfloor heating. We need to get that and the geothermal commissioned soon, or we'll lose out on a grant. I don't think there's anything delaying it. We were originally going ot wait till all the tiling was done, but there's been a delay there, so we'll turn on the heating to try it out, then turn it off and get the tiling finished (two floors left).

Wow - those are some nice stairs you have :-)

Can't wait to see the house!

I'm looking forward to seeing it again without the protective covering.

We hope to have a house warming weekend when it's done, given the distance.

I think we'd all like the stairs to my room, especially puppy who keeps running to the hole & just stopping before he ends up in the fish tank downstairs! I nearly fell down when I threw the thieving computer lead unplugging cat out of my bedroom window.
