  • 15:47 Why did I go into Arnotts? Worst laid out shop EVAR. I always get lost and the misspricing this time is not good for my blood pressure. #

Yeah! But their bargain shop rocks!!

But it would be helpful if the prices were correctly marked in it. I went to the till with something from the €20 section to be told it was €35. I probably would have paid €35 if I'd known from the beginning that that was the price. But I don't like things nearly doubling from the price I've agreed to pay. They lost €55 on that, as I ended up not buying the one that remained at €20 either (I went up with two items).

I'm always afraid, when I go into Arnott's, that I'll walk out into 1908. I swear that shop messes with space in bad ways...and if it messes with space, it could be messing with time!

OMG! I never thought of that! I shall have to be even more careful in future.

I think even the staff don't know how it works. I couldn't find a store guide (I went in from Abbey St), but happened across the information desk by going via the basement. The woman there (friendly even when faced with my snarkiness, I must give her that) directed me to the third floor. I did see store guides on the way up, and it appears Arnotts doesn't have a third floor. However, going up three flights of stairs did work. Stupid half floor layout.

I remember a shop/set of shops in Melbourne that messed with space, but in a fun, manageable way. There were three buildings joined by walkways. You could go in one on the ground floor, go up two/three flights of stairs and come out the last still at ground level.

Thank god it's not just me. I can never find anything.

Mind you, I always thought it was because I sniffed so much going through the perfume department.

Allergies mean I try to avoid the perfume department. I think that's the front though, so I might find it easier if I went in that way. Alternatively, I could try sticking to using the same door all the time, and maybe I'd get used to it. But I suspect I'll go for avoiding going in at all.

yes I agree...i think it's all those half floors! However, as Lizmo says, the basement is good especially when your friend is working there and you get staff prices!
