  • 10:49 Happy anniversary to us. Three years. In Trim to celebrate. Will see castle soon. What else is there to do near Trim? Forgot guidebook. #
  • 11:07 Fire drill in the hotel. Not a lot of people came out. #
  • 15:31 Saw castle and learnt about guarderobes. Heading out of Trim to Bective Abbey now, 2nd Cistercian abbey in Ireland. #
  • 17:37 Too late for Book of Kells exhibition in Kells. Boo. But just in time to buy reproduction on DVD. Yay. Must see real thing in Dublin again. #
Automatically shipped by LoudTwitter (and possibly tweaked by me)

Edit: Two entries missing. One left out by loudtwitter, but the earlier didn't make it to twitter from my phone:

19:29 Kells not the culinary capital of Ireland. Nor a centre of driving excellence. Got good crosses though.
21:30 back home. Time for tea and BSG.

And a photo:

In Trim to celebrate.
That confused me for a moment!
Very strange name for a town.
Happy anniversary.

Re: In Trim to celebrate.
It's an anglicisation of Baile Átha Troim, which means Town of the Ford of the Alder, or something like that.

Thank you!

Happy anniversary! Doesn't seem like three years already.

I was in Trim Courthouse recently - first time ever in Trim I think - and I parked beside the castle. I made a mental note to come back and visit sometime, it looks lovely.

Kells is an exciting place! I remember a brochure they produced about "Ten Fun Days Out In Kells", or suchlike. Eight of the fun days involved going to the swimming pool.

Woo! But we hadn't brought out swimming togs.

I was tempted to text you to ask what to do, but a) I wasn't sure if your Irish number would still work b) didn't know what time it was in NY. Um... though I've just remembered right now that my Palm could have told me.

I don't suppose you ever went to the BoK exhibition and can tell me whether I missed much/it'd be worth going again?

I'm afraid I didn't. I expect it's a bit dull, to be honest :-)
