You'd be jealous of my sister - she went to Borneo and worked with them!

What about dolphins? They're still ok to kill?

saving orangutans
you need to have a look at what the Borneo Orangutan Survival BOS) Foundation is doing for orangutans. They operate the largest primate rescue operation in the world with over 840 rescued orangutans in their care. They are also the ONLY organisation actively rescuing wild orangutans from certain death in oil-palm plantations, over 200 last year alone. Active members in the campaign for sustainable palm oil, they have really managed to make a difference in this area, but there is a long way to go. You can get more info on that at the Safe Palm Oil website operated by BOS UK at www.SafePalmOil.com (undergoing a bit of revamping at present.)
There are so many ways you can help, either with working on the sustainable palm oil campaign writing letters to your representatives and to major retailers and manufacturers, or by sponsoring square meters of reforestation at www.create-rainforest.org, or by volunteering at the BOS Samboja Lestari Project at www.sambojalodge.com. In addition BOS UK offers virtual gifts such as providing food or medicine for orphaned orangutans as well as merchandise with profits going to the activities in Borneo.
Have a look at www.savetheorangutan.co.uk or their new partner in the US, Orangutan Outreach at www.redapes.com.
Please help, orangutans desperately need you.
