I have too many icons in my task bar. I've started looking for patterns, wondering where I can add a fifth matching icon to make the line disappear.

I would link to the games I'm thinking of, but I can't remember their names.
One of them has a grid where coloured balls are randomly put down. You can move the balls around to create lines of five, which then disappear. I've more possibilites for that once since I posted, cos I've increased my task bar height from four rows to five, so now I can make vertical and diagonal lines, not jsut horizontal. If I could swap my "automatic updates" for a firefox, I'd have six in a row. But things have shifted, so one of the powerpoints is on a different line now, which means I only have three in a row now. Oh noes!
The other game has gravity. If you click on a group of two (?) or more in the same colour, they disappear, the ones above fall down, and vertical gaps disappear. I don't think I have as many possibilities for that game, but I was never much good at it.

Sounds a little like a game on Neopets! (Blame big daughter for that)

I haven't tried neopets at all. But I have come across a few versions of the second game. And maybe two of the first one. I don't think they always had the same names, which doesn't help with trying to remember it!

bem set up a Neopet for Annon & guess who had to earn points to feed it & had to look after it! & this was a web pet... I did like some of the games, but got beaten by my son on several. Some rely on extensive knowledge of the Neopet World on which I fail miserably
