無限の彼方まで!
We're going to Japan this summer. I'd better get working on my Japanese!

This probably won't come in too useful: 無限の彼方まで!mugen no kanata made! To Infinity and Beyond!

無限 mugen - "infinite"
彼方 kanata - "yonder" "far away"

I was going to post a comment saying "wah, I'm so jealous", but do I have any right to be given my own holiday destination?

Nope. None at all.

Here's a phrase for you: Ada orang yang bisa bahasa Inggris?

My google fu has failed me. Go on then, I give up.

From http://wikitravel.org/en/Indonesian_phrasebook

Is there anyone here who speaks English?
Caturah Winterhartcaturah on April 16th, 2007 02:54 pm (UTC)
Yep, definitely going to be using that one.. I'll have you coach me on pronunciation :)

Unfortunately, I don't know how to pronounce it. I kinda know how to pronounce one or two Malaysian words, but though the languages are very similar (basically dialects), it says the Indonesia pronunciation is different.

Buggah.

Ah well, here's hoping I can learn to speak fish, and ask "which way to Ireland?"

Konichawa Mollydot-san!

I am hereby officially jealous! As one who practices iaido I would love to visit a proper dojo - and my pal has had a paper accepted for a conference in Japan so gets PAID to go!!!

You do? Where do you do it? I've only heard of iaido fairly recently.

Where to do Iaido
Have a look at www.iaido.ie

Myself and a few friends founded the Iaido Association of Ireland. The original founder of the club emigrated to the US a few years ago, so I kept the club limping along as a contact point for iaidoka and we now have four teachers! But only one location, which is a problem!

Anyway, all details are on the webpage - main class is Monday night. Feel free to drop along.
