Jeepers. I guess insurers are having bad days all across the country!

What about your site?

Oh fuck. I hadn't even thought of that.

The last time, some blocks fell from the gable ends. They'd only been laid the day before, so weren't fully set. They hit the scaffolding and broke apart on the way down, so didn't damage anything else.

So... they're less likely to fall this time, but if they do, are likely to do more damage. The roof is started, which I imagine isn't as strong as the walls, OTOH, last time I saw it it was beams of wood, so I hope the wind would just go around. I didn't go this weekend - I'll ask Lovely Man if it's still like that. He said it hadn't changed much.

After seeing that fallen tree I've wondered if perhaps you are living in Wellington, NZ and I didn't know it!

We've had so much of that lately with winds "gusting" up to 150 K on the worst day. Gusting is hardly the word for that amount of wind.

Hopefully it's a bit more summery there than it is here, despite the wind.

I think we had winds close to that this weekend too, though not that high. thesme_01! Weather report, please?
