post concert ergo propter concert
Oh, oh, oh,
totus floreo,
iam amore virginali
totus ardeo,
novus, novus amor est,
quo pereo.

Oh! Oh! Oh!
I am bursting out all over!
I am burning all over with first love!
New, new love it is what I am dying of!

Just back from Carmina Burana in the National Concert Hall, which was fantastic!
I knew the songs/poems were about gambling, drinking and sex, but I hadn't really paid attention to the words before, or rather, the translations. I also had never noticed that a good chunk is German rather than Latin.

Purely by chance today I came across this, via friendsfriends, I think. I certainly wasn't looking for any Orff stuff. Anyway, there a link to O Fortuna, the first and last song of Carmina Burana, and also music I know from True Romance, but had never guessed was Carl Orff.
